Our Heritage

The Grove was not founded in a boardroom. It began with a handful of letters, a long table, and the conviction that the most consequential conversations rarely belong to the public square. From those first evenings — held by candle beneath a canopy of redwoods — emerged a society devoted to fellowship, intellect, and the patient cultivation of legacy.

Of Custom & Codes

Members keep silence on matters of the Grove. Conversation is unrecorded. Disputes are settled by handshake. The owl is a reminder: watchful, wise, unhurried. Tradition is treated not as nostalgia but as inheritance.

A Standing Philosophy

We hold that excellence is a discipline, that influence is a duty, and that wealth — material or otherwise — finds its purpose only when bound to stewardship. The Grove exists for those who measure their lives in decades and their work in generations.
